Energy Balancing
Profound relaxation
Science
All matter, regardless of size, produces a magnetic field. Magnetism is a form of energy. Thanks to the advancements in quantum physics we now understand that magnetism is one of the fundamental forces of the universe. The human body, being comprised of compressed energy, has a magnetic field. Our bodies operate by a series of electro-chemical reactions. Information is transferred throughout the nervous system by a series of electro-chemical reactions.

Respiration (breathing) is a chemical reaction. Signals that cause muscles to contract and release are carried through electrical signals. The interaction of the resulting fields (chemical and electro/magnetic) combine to form what Western science now terms, "The Bio-Energetic Field".
Bodywork

Energy practices on the body has been going on around the world for for thousands of years. A few examples are Aryuveda from India, Native American Shamanism, Acupressure from China, and Japans Reiki (which is believed to have originated in ancient Tibet and India). Ancient philosophies & techniques and modern day practitioners share the common goal of balancing the human (and animals) energy system.
~Throughout the years I've noticed the people who choose to incorporate energy work in their massage therapy treatment leave the session with an even MORE deeply profound sense of calm rejuvenation.. Highly recommend! :
Today there is a wide array of energy work modalities to experience. Popular practices are Healing Touch, Shiatsu, Acupuncture / pressure, Therapeutic Touch, Reiki, Polarity Therapy, Quantum Touch and Reflexology. Shiatsu, reflexology and acupressure all use varying pressure on specific skin surface points with the goal of stimulating the flow of energy to restore balance and also to improve circulation and relieve congestion and pain. Acupuncture does this as well but with hair fine needles placed into the skin points.
I am a student of Healing Touch however Ive also studied reflexology, some quantum touch, acupressure and polarity therapy. Healing Touch intrigued me during my early years of body work and I am blessed to have been taught levels 1-3 by some some of the organizations very best instructors; Ann Day, Cecil Del Carmen and Lori Protzman. They have all influenced me greatly! I love this work and feel I resonate the most with its philosophies and techniques.
The givers (healer) goal is to restore harmony and balance in their clients energy system facilitating that persons own self-healing. This is done all the while holding an intention of the clients highest good in mind. Healing Touch grew out of the nursing practice of Janet Mentgen BSN, RN and developed into the Healing Touch Certification program in 1997. Today the organization is called "Healing Beyond Borders." It is endorsed by the American Holistic Nurses Assoc AHNA and the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) and is a continuing education Approved Provider for both associations.
Reiki originated in Japan and the intention is the same as healing touch; facilitate harmony & balance. Reiki as we know it today started In the beginning of the 19th century by a man named Mikao Usui. He re-discovered ancient knowledge after a lifelong quest to uncover the source of ancient healing techniques and founded: the ‘Society of the Usui Spiritual Energy Healing Method’ or in Japanese: the ‘Usui Reiki Ryôhô Gakkai’. Mikao Usui’s teachings reached the reached the west in 1937 (eleven years after his death) by way of one Usui’s better known students, Dr. Chujiro Hayashi and a student of Hayashi, a Hawaiian woman of Japanese decent named Hawayo Takata.
